British Institute

The British Institute is the educational arm of the ISBGFH.  Held annually in Salt Lake City, Utah, it strives to be the ultimate family history research and learning experience for persons interested in the British Isles.  This year the British Institute will present in-depth study on Welsh, Scottish and Irish family history research and advanced genealogical methods.  Held on 20-24 October 2014 at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel, it involves morning presentations in the classroom setting and, then, afternoon research in the LDS Family History Library (next door).  This format is unique in that the research is determined by the student and the instructor is available for advice as needed.

This will be my third British Institute.  I highly recommend the program and format to everyone with British Isles roots.  There is no better learning experience offered!

Tom Jones, PhD, CG, CGL will again present on genealogical methodology.  According to plans, David Rencher will not instruct next year at the British Institute so take advantage of his Irish expertise this year while the opportunity exists.  Darris Williams will not offer his Welsh experience next year.  If you have Welsh ancestors, this is the year to attend the British Institute.  Paul Milner is offering his Scottish expertise this year.  Scotland was not presented last year.  See the ISBGFH website for details of this year's program.  Space is limited to 30 persons per class.  They fill quickly.
