International Society for British Genealogy and Family History Appoints Christine Woodcock as Editor

The International Society for British Genealogy and Family History (ISBGFH) has appointed Christine Woodcock of Brantford, Ontario, as editor of its quarterly publication, British Connections. Since 2000, British Connections has provided researchers with articles covering numerous British Isles research topics, including methodology, source material, case studies, book reviews, queries, and historical information applicable to British Isles researchers.

Christine presently serves as editor of several publications, including two newsletters for the Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS): the Hamilton Branch OGS, quarterly newsletter of the Hamilton (Wentworth County) Branch of OGS; and the Scottish SIG Newsletter, a publication of the OGS Scottish special interest group. She also previously edited BRANTches, the newsletter of the Brant County Branch of OGS. Christine is also editor of the British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa Newsletter and the family newsletter Crawford Connections. She serves as Director of Genealogy Tours of Scotland, and also edits the organization’s newsletter.

Woodcock will be responsible for maintaining the quality content of British Connections and working with authors and columnists. She will work with ISBGFH Trustee Leslie Tomlinson, who serves as the layout editor for British Connections. “We look forward to working with Christine, and are enthusiastic about her vision for the publication,” said ISBGFH President Ann Lisa Pearson.

“I look forward to expanding the reach of British Connections, as well as retaining authors from around the world,” noted Christine Woodcock. Christine is particularly looking forward to expanding ISBGFH’s reach into Canada, and recruiting authors from the U.S., Canada and U.K. If you are interested in writing for British Connections, please contact Christine at For more information on British Connections and the International Society for British Genealogy and Family History, visit
